This book is a fun, fast-paced ride. The dialogue between Casey and Travis has some laugh-out-loud moments and the swift-moving plot kept me entertained all the way to the last page. This is a great book. I thoroughly enjoyed it!
It's not often I find a story with characters that are well rounded and realistic. In this romance, you find an everyday woman who is at a crossroads in her life. I quickly connected to Casey and her quirks. I was right with her when she found the little villa a piece of paradise, and just as irritated as she was when someone intruded on her space.

Travis immediately caught my attention with his humor and down-to-earth style. The banter between them kept me connected and wanting more of a peek into their burgeoning relationship. He definitely had some secrets that kept me reading to find out what they were.

There were the usual ups and downs and a few intimate romance scenes that were written tastefully. Overall it was entertaining with a few twists and turns that kept me going all the way to the end. I can recommend this story as one of the better written Indy books I've come across.
A new Author for me and one in which I will read again. This was truly a love story and loved the laugh, the tears and the realistic turmoil people truly go through.

Casey Reynolds is a Pulitzer Prize winning burned out investigative journalist that is over due for a long vacation. She's the daughter of a renown sports journalist, the 6'1" beauty is on the edge of a burnout breakdown, her emotional fragility is apparent to all who encounter her. After resigning her long-term position with the paper, the editor / owner, more family than friend, provides her with a villa in Mexico, all expenses paid, as she decides her next move. Her boss makes it a vacation rather than accepting her resignation.

She spends one tranquil day on the beach and evening in the villa.. Upon rising the next day she soon becomes aware of a surprise guest in the villa. Travis Craig was invited my Mike Matt's son to go and relax while he gets well and decompresses over his job loss.. He is a teacher and was down sized in his teaching position. Sparks soon fly and Travis quickly plants a kiss on her lips!!

Casey is trying to write a novel while is is there and Travis is all to eager to edit her work. She all but comes unglued the first time he red marked it, but soon realizes he knows what he is doing so they learn coexists. She soon starts to wants him but she is so insecure with her inner feelings, her body, being tall, she isnt skinny but she is no fat by any means at all! Travis is so patient he is willing to wait.

Through the next three months a true love story develops.. They go into the Acapulco to a neighbors apartment for a week of the city life and upon returning she realizes she must leave when Travis goes into the city one day as he goes shopping for her a gift for Easter. She can't bare to say goodbye as they board separate planes when their time ends and the affair ends as well.

The ending is NOT at all how I expected this to end! However with that said I was not disappointed! Elaine did a FAB job!! KUDOS!!
Casey is a very capable reporter. She has climbed her way to the peak of her career before the age of thirty through hard work, excellent writing and taking on the challenging stories that move people to action. Though she has attained the highest award available in that line of work she is burned out and unhappy. All that success as a career woman and her insecurities about her looks, her height and the mirror-reinforced fact that she will never be Twiggy have teamed up to make her very depressed and lonely.

Deciding to chuck it all she tells her boss she is quitting and takes his offer to use his Mexican hide-away to write her novel. The novel is not the only thing she discovers there.

I truly enjoyed this story. The author takes us inside the mind of a woman who should be on top of the world and treats us to the disassembly of rational thought at least three times which gives the main character depth. The sub-plot to turn loose what you love and see if it comes back occurs more than once in this work with the same result which really stacks up the evidence that somebody is...insane.

The was a fun book to read and an excellent vacation for the mind. Some editing flubs could be fixed but they did not interfere with enjoying the story. Four out of five orgasmic units joy are hereby awarded.
