I was in a bit of a reading slump this week because I have been sick and the weather has sucked big time. When this happens I just want to read a book I love that I know has a happy ending and a feel good story. Reading this series is like being wrapped up in a warm blanket. It brings out all the warm fuzzies and makes curling up and forgetting life a breeze. The book is Leverage (The Brannock Siblings) by Jessica Wilde. This is the first book in the series and all three books are amazing.

The Brannocks are Irish in case you can’t tell from the name; and the whole family are cops. This book is a full 5 out of 5 stars. It has been edited well, and while I’m sure there might have been one or two things wrong none of them were enough to pull me out of the story. The two main characters have known each other their whole lives and have fallen in love. There is a bit of back and forth as they are unsure whether or not the other feels the same. The characters are well written and have a depth to them which makes it impossible not to like them. The author also develops the side characters very well, which leads you into the other books in the series. She focuses on the family as a whole and does not let side characters just be a passing thought.

This is one of my favorite books to read because it has a happy ending and brings out all the feels. There is enough intrigue and backstabbing in other characters to keep the story going. It flows smoothly and keeps you guessing who the bad guy is until the end. The story idea itself is not new but the way it is written is very well done. There is no wondering ahead of time if a certain character is the bad guy because he/she is written into the story as a friend and there are no ah ha moments that make you certain it is him/her before the actual ending.

I would recommend this book and the whole series to anyone. All three books flow well and lead right into the other seamlessly. I am glad to have found this book and look forward to anything else she has written.

Well written and a great story of families that protect each other and love that never dies. This is part one of a four part of the Brannock family series, this is about the beloved and overly protected baby sister Ashlinn Brannock, her two brothers are cops her brother's best friend Lucas is a detective under her father Irishman Captain Liam Brannock. So basically her whole life he has been told what to do and what not to do for 28 years. After an embarrassing 21 birthday, her brother's doing, she ran to Ohio for 7 years but still under her family's control. Now after a lieing bf she home but at a bad Timex and her childhood crush is still around to cause her virginal body all sorts of feelings. Like I said she is back at a very bad time where her father and Lucas is trying to take down a leak in the department and a drug/weapon/woman trafficking ring.
Second story will be her older brother Conell, then third book will be her wild brother Fergus an dot round the series out will be the story of their beloved father and how he fell in love with their mother before her death by cancer. You will see parts in this book about the love that their parents had and how that love is still so relatively still there.
What makes an avid reader like myself close up an ebook at 5%? A heroine that starts out interesting followed by complaints and whining about EVERYTHING in her life. Because she has no control of anything. Her brothers, her father, her mother who died on her birthday, her life, the boyfriend who robbed her and the friends who laughed at her. Oh and she's the most gorgeous thing ever but a 28 year old virgin who has saved herself for the perfect guy she grew up with - yes the only guy her wonderful but really they were just awful to her ... two big brother's best friend and of course he's the star detective on Captain daddy's police force, the guy who was forced to take her to Prom and who she told at age 21 she loved ... Christ, this was the first 5%! No question why I tossed it.
So I discovered this series thanks to author Tracie Redmond who mentioned it in her Guided Love book and it got me curious because when authors do that, it's because the books are amazing and well, this book series only proved me right lol

In Leverage, we are introduced to the Brannocks, a family of hot cops and one fierce girl, Aislinn. It's her story <3

Aislinn is returning home after a bad breakup and since she's all about family, she's more than happy to live again with her amazing dad, Captain Liam Brannock. So yeah, Aislinn was way off limits and he would learn to control his own body and mind whenever the striking beautiful girl was around even if being away from her caused him physical pain.

However, when a chain of events set a situation where the two of them need to be together and uncover how they are linked to one of the biggest cases Lucas faces at the department, can they keep their feelings at bay and ignore the sizziling chemistry they have? Especially when Fergus and Conall promised to maim Lucas should he ever touch their little sis? Get this book and find out for yourself! hahaha
