I love Nicci Haydon's writing. Imagine, though, my apprehension when I saw she had only one 1-star review for this tale. I decided to see for myself. For me, this short story was more suspenseful than erotic--I was curious to see what Annabel had in store for her lesbian lover, Daisy.First, Haydon does a fine job of developing the characters. This is no easy feat in a story so short, but this author pulls it off. I found it to be more sensual and loving--a common theme in the works I've read of hers--than a downright horny read. Perhaps it is because one of our characters is a little quirky and a bit juxtaposed.
Secondly, she develops a clever little contest where a winner is proclaimed, but in essence, both girls win...a nice little touch that kept me guessing as I read, even chuckling at how it played out.
And finally, the prose is good--smooth, slick writing that is both witty and cheeky. And the story was free for goodness sake!

Even as a guy, I enjoyed the tension and imagination that went into this tale. So hoping for more
No story at all. There is hardly any background. There is no conflicts or problems to be solved. The descriptions are not erotic.
